Bastardfest to Sit Out 2013

The annual Bastardfest will sit out 2013 to make things even better for 2014. The organisers said:

Bugger! Due to changes in administration at Bastardfest HQ, some little bastards on the way and a huge amount of international touring competition in 2013, we here at Bastardfest would like to inform the loyal and supportive Bastardfest public that this year’s festivities will be put on hold for 2013. Fear not, we will be back bigger and better in 2014 as we work on a number of changes and ideas to bring you the best and truest national metal festival in the country. Bastardfest would like to apologise to all fans and bands for the hibernation this year, but we feel it is in the best interest of the festival to keep it going for many years to come. In the meantime, stay bastard and lookout for announcements for 2014!

New Release —> Dad Punchers — “These Times Weren’t Made For You”

ARTIST: Dad Punchers
TITLE: “These Times Weren’t Made For You”
RELEASE DATE: June sometime
LABEL: Secret Voice
ABOUT: Jeremy Bolm (owner of Secret Voice): “It always feels a little unjust to grasp a listener’s attention based on an artist’s current or previous work, but the forthcoming 7”EP “These Times Weren’t Made For You” will put an end to Elliot Babin’s go-to connection as the drummer of Touche Amore, as it has the power to make Dad Punchers a household name. This EP marks the second release for Elliot; the Dad Punchers S/T LP opened eyes last year and gave him the platform that he has earned today, writing deeply personal and often charming songs about the struggles of young adulthood that anyone can relate to. This EP was recorded by Elliot himself in his time home from tour. Using his Father’s living room and his growing knowledge of recording technique, he managed to produce an enjoyable listening experience while once again playing nearly every instrument. Taking cues from The Beach Boys,The Weakerthans, and a range of No Idea Records alumni, Dad Punchers is a look into who Elliot Babin really is as a musician, songwriter, and human being”
